Freshman Elementary Education major Brooke Housenga and her boyfriend, freshman Bible major Taylor Walburg decorate their TOMS at the party in Daverman Hall on Wednesday night. The party was organized by one of the business classes along with head of student activities Matt Haller as part of the "Unplugged" day on campus. The first 50 students to sign up recieved their TOMS for half price through the store "Clothing Matters" in downtown Grand Rapids. "I think this event is really fun and creative and beneficial," said Housenga. "You're actually doing something with a product but you're also supporting a really good organization." TOMS shoes is an organization known for their "One for One" promise--for each pair bought, a pair is given to someone in need of shoes.
